About Denisa

I have always been interested in people more than photographs.

For years, I have worked closely with entrepreneurs, executives and professionals—often meeting them at a moment when the person they had become was no longer fully reflected in the way they presented themselves.

Behind the camera, I learned to observe.

Not only faces, but hesitation, confidence, tension, presence—and the subtle difference between performing for the camera and simply being yourself.

A camera records what is in front of it. It does not create a more confident, credible or impressive version of you.

My job is to create the conditions that allow the person already there to emerge.

Through direction, conversation, light and attention, I help people move beyond the tension of being photographed until something more genuine becomes visible.

That experience changed the way I think about portraiture.

Today, my work explores the relationship between identity and perception: how we see ourselves, how others perceive us, and what happens when the two become more aligned.

I bring curiosity, intuition and years of practical experience to this work, while continuing to learn from psychology, neuroscience and human behaviour.

I don’t believe in creating a persona.

I believe in revealing the one that is already there.
